Earth Day
The Super Recyclers are making a difference in our participating schools’ environment.
Here are some testimonials from schools:
Stanislas College : ”In September, bike racks were purchased with the amount raised in the 2019-2020 school year campaign. The idea being to encourage active and eco-responsible mobility of students. With the amount raised from the November 2020 campaign, it is planned to create pleasant living spaces in the courtyard through the development of green spaces and rest and relaxation areas. Plants were also purchased for classes that participated in an environmental challenge in the 1st semester!”
École Lajoie : “The Super Recyclers clothing drive has become a staple at our school! Parents look forward to it to make some room in their closets. It’s a great way to raise awareness about the recycling of clothes and toys while raising money for special projects at school. This year, the money raised went towards the purchase of cacti for our kindergarteners’ mini greenhouse project.”
École Jacques de Chambly : “I would love to share with you how the Super Recyclers helped us raise the funds to purchase materials to improve our flower beds at the front of the school. From the first clothing drive, we bought a wheelbarrow and some gardening tools. We planted a variety of bulbs in the fall of 2020. For this year, we want to improve on what we have started.”
École Lajeunesse : “For several years now, our school has been collaborating with the Super Recyclers to participate in clothing drives that have allowed us to raise funds and thus contribute to financing our project of making the schoolyard green again. The addition of trees, furniture, playgrounds, and an outdoor classroom provides an outdoor space that allows for collective growth. The clothing drives are mobilizing events for the entire school as well as for our neighbourhood families. We are very happy to participate each year. ”
École de l’envolée : The Green Committee is participating in the Super Recyclers campaign to raise funds to eventually purchase a dishwasher and dishes for the cafeteria to make it more environmentally friendly. This school wants to ban the use of non-recyclable plates and utensils. They have almost reached their financial goal.
